This notice is issued pursuant to Part 617 of the implementing regulations pertaining to Article 8 (State Environmental Quality Review Act) of the Environmental Conservation Law and Chapter 114, Town of Babylon Environmental Quality Review Act.
A Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement has been completed and accepted for the proposed action described below. Comments are requested and will be accepted by the contact person until April 18, 2005. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on March 14, 2005 at 7:00 PM at the Babylon Town Board Meeting Room, Babylon Town Hall, 200 East Sunrise Highway, North Lindenhurst, New York.
Note: Hearing date has been changed from February 28, 2005 to March 14, 2005 and comment period has been extended from March 18, 2005 to April 18, 2005.
Name of Action: Deer Park Enterprises (Tanger) Planning Board Job No. 2004-11AFN.
Description of Action: Retail development on 81 acre Ga Industrial site which includes the demolition of existing structures, approximately 900,000 square feet of proposed building area, 4,723 parking stalls and associated site improvements.
Location: North side Grand Blvd., 1,432 e/o Commack Road, Deer Park, Town of Babylon, County of Suffolk, SCTM No. 0100-68-01-46.3 and part of 46.6.
Potential Environmental Impacts:
1. Impacts on area roadways.
2. Growth inducing impacts.
3. Potential air quality impacts.
4. Secondary impacts on the surrounding community.
5. Consideration of all development options for the site and thresholds for maximum development of the site need to be examined.
